Skills and Work Experience
Merchant’s House Cafe March 2021 – Present
As things have slowly started to return to normal this year, I’ve been working full time in a local cafe while I search for fashion related roles. I’ve been working in a close knit team and have to work efficiently and under pressure in order to ensure that every customer has the best experience possible. My time working here has also given me ample time to also focus on my personal social media, something I also worked on greatly during last years lock- down. Through this I’ve had the privilege of working with massive brands such as Lounge Underwear, Net-A-Porter and Motel Rocks.
Public Health England Covid-19 Contact Tracer May 2020 – December 2020
Throughout the unprecedented time off due to the Covid pandemic, I worked remotely for Public Health England via Vericall as a contact tracer. Not only did this allow me to feel as though I was doing my part throughout this global crisis, my time in this role also increased my ability to ‘think on my feet’. Additionally, as this position entailed dealing with members of the public from various backgrounds, each of whom have differing emotional responses and attitudes to the information being relayed to them, my emotional intelligence and profession- alism grew immensely.
Topshop November 2019 – April 2020
Though my time at Topshop was unfortunately short lived as a result of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, this has been my most fulfilling and enjoyable role to date. This role included assisting customers with their own styling needs and ensuring that everyone who entered the shop felt well looked after and got all the help they needed, these demands required an excellent attention to detail as well as the drive and motivation to go above and beyond for every single customer. Additionally, my role involved assisting with content creation for the Topshop Edinburgh instagram page. This truly sparked my interest in the power of social media and is what started the path that would eventually lead me to applying for this job. This small aspect of my role also allowed me an important insight into the way brands use social media to engage with their audience. (It was also during my time at Topshop that I bought my first ever Djerf Avenue item!)
